Lensswitch

A familiar frame. A completely new look.
Our story began with a simple idea—and the curiosity to see how far it could go.

One frame. Endless possibilities.

It started with
a question.

Why buy a new frame when a new pair of lenses can change everything?

When Mike Verschuren founded Lensswitch, he had already been running his own optical store for more than eight years. As Cartier frames became increasingly popular, he noticed customers buying a new pair whenever they wanted a different look.

Mike saw another possibility. Replace square blue lenses with round brown ones, and the frame you already love takes on a completely different character.

That simple idea became Lensswitch.

The difference
is in the details.

The shape. The colour. The way an edge catches the light.

Mike immersed himself in shaping, faceting and polishing lenses. Diamond Cut became a particular fascination: a small adjustment could change the entire expression of a lens.

There were mistakes, experiments and countless hours of practice. A perfectionist by nature, he kept refining his technique until the work matched the idea in his head.

That experience is still at the heart of Lensswitch—and makes our one-hour service in Eindhoven possible.

A personal look, shared far beyond the store.

A name that
began to travel.

One new look led to another. Then word began to spread.

Customers shared their glasses with friends and on social media. Soon, people were coming to Eindhoven from across the Netherlands, drawn by the possibilities of custom lenses.

Artists and footballers, including KA, Steven Bergwijn, David Neres and Johan Bakayoko, became customers too.

Some now fly from London to Eindhoven, have their lenses replaced and return home the same day. That kind of trust is something we never take for granted.

An Eindhoven story, with a new chapter in Amsterdam.

As more customers travelled from across the country, we wanted to make Lensswitch easier to reach. In 2020, we opened our appointment-based drop-off location at Keizersgracht 520H in Amsterdam.

A place to leave your frame with us and begin its next chapter. Our physical store in Eindhoven remains the home of our one-hour service, personal advice and lens craftsmanship.

A long friendship.
A shared ambition.

Mike & Willy

Mike and Willy had been friends for years, sharing ideas and talking about what they might build together. As Lensswitch grew, one of those conversations became a plan.

Mike brought his experience in optics and lens craftsmanship. Willy, who runs a media agency, brought his knowledge of branding, storytelling and connecting with new audiences.

Together, they decided to take Lensswitch international. To bring the work that began in Eindhoven to people further afield, with the same care and personal attention that shaped it from the start.
